ABOUT CPRDS

Centre for Policy and Research on Digital Society LTD, and correctly abbreviated as CPRDS is a registered not-for-profit organization incorporated under the Companies Act, No. 15 of 2013 of the Republic of Malawi as a company that is Private Limited by Guarantee.

MISSION, VISION AND VALUES OF CPRDS

Our MISSION is to promote digital transformation in Malawi and beyond.

Our VISION is to be a leading non-profit organization in Malawi and beyond, in matters related to digitalization and society, through independent policy advocacy as well as consultancy, research and development on relevant digital interventions, with respect to the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).

Our VALUES are relevance, positive change and sustainability.

Malawi cannot afford to lag behind in digitalization, as the world is now experiencing the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) which is characterized by the fusion of digital and physical worlds, as well as the growing utilization of new digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, robotics, 3D printing, the Internet of Things, and advanced wireless technologies, among others. Various sectors of the economy, whether public or private sector, cannot afford to continue with manual processes which affect operational efficiency and effectiveness. Digital transformation, on the other hand, can promote economic growth and structural transformation hence contributing to poverty reduction among communities and the nation at large.

OBJECTIVES OF CPRDS

  1. Contribute to discourse on various policies on digitalization in Malawi and Africa at large.
  2. Advocate for meaningful and sustainable digitalization in various sectors of the economy in Malawi and Africa at large.
  3. Conduct consultancy, research and development on various digital interventions in Malawi and Africa at large, with respect to the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
